I wonder what one vote is worth?
Since I believe all politicians are Whores, and are only in Polics to aquire Power and Money, I wonder what my ONE vote is worth.
Remember that guy who tried to sell his vote on eBay?

Re: I wonder what one vote is worth?
Because if everyone decides that their one vote doesn't count, no one would vote. This country is based on people who care enough to vote, and if you don't care enough, and you're going to voice your ignorance, expect people who do care to tell you how ignorant you are.

Re: I wonder what one vote is worth?
Dont get me wrong, i have only missed ONE election in 33 years. I had just turned 18 and was in college. I ran into a friend from summer session '71 who had worked for George McGovern and he reamed me good when I told him I didn't think it mattered if I vote. I voted in EVERY election ever since.... You make a good point, it still frustates me to watch how the rich control the world.

Re: I wonder what one vote is worth?
I couldn't agree more. At some point the rate that things are inflating has to top out. Health insurance companies raise rates EVERY year regardless of how the economy is doing, does the government need to get communist on these bastards and tell them they only get so much. So much money is wasted in the corperate world its not funny and we all pay for it in the long run. Everyone seems to claim that the rich get taxed like mad but you still see their worth going up every year while the little guys struggle week to week. I don't think communism works but at the same time I think they should be limiting or restricting the fat cats.

Re: I wonder what one vote is worth?
Well in my State of SC, I could rock my vote 30,000 times and Bush will still take the state. I'll still vote, but sometimes I hate how conservative (retarded if you prefer) this beautiful state is.

Re: I wonder what one vote is worth?
Ever heard the saying "A picture is worth a thousand words"? I believe so is every person's vote. When i hear people speak of "oh I'm going for Nader so I'm just not going to vote"...or "Bush will win anyways so I just won't vote", it deeply worries me. Until everyone takes the time to vote and be heard, this country will continue to be run by the few. People say majority people this and that...but is it really a majority? No, because the ajority of people don't take tiem to vote Would your vote count? Most definitely it would...through voting you can change policy...when people see that others feel the same way about particular issues mre poeple will voice out...the power of majority is a wonderful thing, but when controlled by the few it does not reflect our country as a whole.

Re: I wonder what one vote is worth?
less than 600 votes gave bush the white house in florida... so i guess depends in which state you are,... indiana has always voted republican in the presidential elections... but that is easy to figure... pro-life, pro-guns, etc. etc.

Re: I wonder what one vote is worth?
I think that the very fact that you have the power to vote, and the fact that you do vote will influence politics greatly. Politicians listen to people. If you are in a group of people with similar interests (read: special interest group), you will be a very powerful entity indeed. You may not think that one vote is powerful, but it is. If you combine it with other people's votes, then it becomes even more powerful.
Votes are like strands of grass. One blade may not be that hefty, but if it's a bale of hay, it's gonna pack a punch.

Re: I wonder what one vote is worth?
For me, part of the reason i'm going to vote in a few months is because i'm 18 and it's my first chance to do so, not to mention it pisses me off to know that only something like a third of kids 18-25 actually vote. But the other part of it has to do with knowing that its really what our country is based on. Regardless of the fact that my one vote doesn't change anything, i know that theres millions of people in other countries suffering under dictators and the like not to mention the millions of men and women around the world putting their lives on the line to protect this freedom, and not only today, but the millions before them over the past 200+ yrs. Not to mention, i can't stand listening to people complain about politics and our government when they chose not to vote. So, IMHO, its painless to go 15 min out of my way once a year to give my quiet whisper of an opinion.
