A Classic night for a ballgame
After a classic finish two nights ago that brought the Yankees their 39th American League pennant, the 100th edition of the Fall Classic begins tonight at the House That Ruth Built with the Yankees hosting the National League champion Marlins. Left-hander David Wells gets the start for New York vs. Florida right-hander Brad Penny

Re: New York Yankees

I'm glad that Florida took at least one from the Yanks. Makes it a teensy bit more interesting. Heh!

Wouldn't it be some shit if the Marlins actually beat 'em. HA!

ya... the best series was the ALCS... it's just boring now... Unless the yankees storm the Marlins dugout... that could be fun to watch

C'mon Shannon. If you're going to take that stance, you've got to boycott Blockbuster Video. Wayne Hyzinga (sp?) the buy who built the Blockbuster empire assembled and later dismantled the Marlins. He's the criminal. The new guys just picked up the pieces.

Although the whole Pudge kissing Ugie after game one is a little too South Beach for the sports world if you ask me!

Re: New York Yankees

Huge Yanks fan here... I really didn't care that much about losing to the Marlins, beating Boston was awesome. Congrats to the Marlins, they pitched great and got key hits. The Yankees pitched well enough to win, but the hits just weren't there when they really needed them. (Boone striking out in game 4, Bernie grounding into a DP in the 3rd inning of game 7) Well just time for some bball and football, maybe a little NHL, then its time for baseball again!
