Would it make a difference if...
..you met a really funny, sexy, smart girl/guy and then found out that they worked at McDonalds or some other minimum wage job?
Does it really matter to you what someone does for work?
I find that often people get judged for what they do to bring in a paycheque. For me, I personally don't care what people do as long as they are happy and working in a field that helps them reach their potential. I feel bad for people who waste their lives in jobs that make them unhappy or when they could be so much more and are simply there out of laziness or apathy. Otherwise, if it's just a stepping stone in their life, I don't really care what they do.

Re: Would it make a difference if...
I don't care what any person does for a living. You should be intersted in the person and not their job. If someone judges you for that, then they are ignorant and nto worth there time anyway. Personally, if they are happy with there job they can stay there, if not, I make enough money for the both of us.

Re: Would it make a difference if...
As it's been said...it's the person that I'm interested in...not what line of work they are in. I couldn't however be with someone who just didn't want to work. Laziness gets you no where with me *smiles*

Re: Would it make a difference if...
It would for me if they had no plans on leaving that job ever. Unless if they were really happy with that job and the lifestyle that came with it. I just wouldn't want to have a long-term relationship with someone that would expect me to support them just because they didn't want to put forth the effort to get a higher paying job. Although, I do want to be able to support my wife for awhile when we have kids so she can stay at home and raise them.

Re: Would it make a difference if...
I'd like to say no, but sadly yes. Not for the money, I make enough for myself, but more for the intelectual conversation. I have met a few people that are VERY intelectual and work shitty jobs, but those are rare.

^^^ 100% agree.... if they are out of college. If they are in college, then sure work a dirt ass job, but if you get through college no excuse for that.

Re: Would it make a difference if...
i would be happy as hell if i had a gf that actually had a job. EVen a min wage one. My last two gf's didnt work so i had to pay for everything all the time, and that was just stupid.

Re: Would it make a difference if...
it matters if the person has more potential than being designated "Fry cook" (which, if they didn't, i wouldn't be with them, but that's for another thread...). If they've got enough money stashed around to do nothing but work a crummy job for something extra to do, i'd recommend a place where they wouldn't come home smelling like McNuggets (kudos, btw, for the new all-white McNugs..). I'd try to steer them into at least a clerical-type position...

life changes in a split second sometimes, you never know where it will take you. my a NWSer is no. it makes no difference if you're an elite bussiness person or the janator at the local middle school.

Re: Would it make a difference if...
Actually, having one of those jobs is likely to affect the person's outlook and self-confidence as well. Unless it is something they really enjoy. I haven't met too many happy garbagemen, but some career waitresses are damned content with what they do, and earn okay doing it.
I've never had a great-paying job, but I've liked some better than others, and that has held true for me.

Re: Would it make a difference if...
I would like to think it would not matter cause Ive had my fair share of shitty jobs. How every the person would have to at lest be able to support their habbits. Then it would be cool but I can not be in a relationship with a mooch.
