Help My start menu got deleted! Vista.
So I think in the process of using a bunch of cleaner programs, I somehow lost everything in the start menu under all programs. So that means I have no programs in there except like 3 folders with a couple things in them. I have Vista 64bit, does anybody know what I should do to put everything back in there, or a program that can do it for me?!!
Thanks.
...yes I know I am an idiot.

Re: Help My start menu got deleted! Vista.
All the program files are still in the hard drive, I guess just all the shortcuts in the start menu got deleted. I downloaded a couple programs, but nothing for that specifically.
If I system restore what exactly happens, does it keep all the settings and folders and such that I have now, and just revert everything back?.. or how exactly does it work?.. Ive only had to use it once and I ended up having to reinstall the operating system.

Well it will restore to a previous date or program install event. If you do use it, and mind you I do hate using it usually, only go back a day or two so as to not have to reinstall or reconfigure too much. If you go back too far with it you will hose your machine even worse so caveat emptor.
