I have not tried this myself , but from what I have read most have no problems with it.
It is supposed to be unattended version with serial built in.

My only problem was that it wouldn't install Rollup 2. It said that MCE 2005 wasn't registered earlier in the installation and the failed installation of Rollup 2 was because it didn't recognize my version of XP as MCE. That said, Windows update worked fine with no hassle from genuine advantage at all.

<sigh> Unfortunately, after all that the computer has decided to take a dump on me. This has happened multiple times with this setup. IIRC there is some kind of driver conflict and/or some way certain files are getting corrupted on the main drive. I'm going to swap the drive out to see what happens.

Swapped in a hard drive and reprogrammed. Found out what I did wrong before and have a perfectly working MCE OS.

Now if only I could get the TV of my ATI AIW to work properly. . .

Yeah, it shouldn't have been as hard as others made it seem. 1st; a fresh installation of XP is probably a good idea. 2nd; even after you do Windows Update and think that since you have .NET 2 and 3 installed because of Update you still need to install .NET 1 from the disc. The installation on the disc looks for a specific file from the .NET 1 installation to register MCE. If MCE is not properly in the registry then Update Rollup 2 on the disc doesn't work properly.

My ATI All-in-Wonder's TV function is goofy. It won't run except in low-performance mode because something I did is using the video overlay sources it needs. With the exception of recording live TV that is okay because the darned thing is hooked up to a TV anyway.
