Modding an x50(1)(v) as a web-PC

I am a n00b here, please be gentle...

I have been working on plans to build a portable computer based around the Dell Axim x50 series (I'm actually using an X51V for this application).

The general idea is:

Connect an external LCD panel (larger screen, higher resolutions)
Possibly use a touchscreen (requires USB host, need CF card to add)
Possibly use USB mouse & keyboard (currently using BlueTooth)

The point of this project is to create a computer that is cheap to build, and able to be powered off of solar cells and batteries....

Once again, I'm a n00b... and I ain't sure if this is the place to post this... or even if it is the kind of stuff to post...

(I would have pics, but I'm not sure how to avoid breaking the rules)
