Go to http://forum.bodybuilding.com/ and read the nutrition and also the workout progams forum.
You need cals, protien, the right amount of carbs and healthy fats (EFA's). You need to lift properly and you need your sleep. Research before you ask any questions that can be answered by using the search button.

Also post your weekly workout routine and also daily calorie, protien, carbo and fat intake.
How much do you weigh and how tall are you. Can you gain fat easily or are you a bean pole like eddie that could eat 3 cans of peanut butter a day and not gain an ounce?

Well.....
I can offer a few simple and practical guidelines to follow.
1. try to get away from the three meal a day tradition. Try to balance your diet but have something to eat about once every few hours. Avoid trying to eat a whole lot at once and then going w/o food for extended periods. Breakfest IS the most important meal of the day, since you've slept for hours.
2. Use protein meal replacements like Met-Rx. There are a number of quality protein supplements out there.... most of which don't taste too bad nowdays.
3. Consider using androgens. Androgens are pro-hormones which are converted to testosterone by the human male body. If used properly, these can really make a serious difference. I use products by a company known as 'osmo'. I have noticed some serious differences in strength. However, I train for strength, not mass.
4. Use some type of synergistic compound to help reduce overall body fat and help convert it to muscle mass. Avoid Ephedra, it is very bad for your cardiovascular system.
5. Do not overdue your physical routine. No pain no gain has been proven to be somewhat exaggerated. Give your muscles enough time to heal. If you're still sore, take the day off.
p.s. I minored in nutrition as an undergrad.

Breakfest IS the most important meal of the day, since you've slept for hours. good point, about 6 balanced feedings, not meals is good
2. Use protein meal replacements like Met-Rx. There are a number of quality protein supplements out there.... most of which don't taste too bad nowdays. Met-rx is good but to save money try optimum products. Go to www.dpsnutrition.com for excellent prices
3. Consider using androgens. Androgens are pro-hormones which are converted to testosterone by the human male body. If used properly, these can really make a serious difference. I use products by a company known as 'osmo'. I have noticed some serious differences in strength. However, I train for strength, not mass. IMO pro-hormones are a waste of money. diet is the KEY. Dont waste your money on pro-hormones, its like spending the money and only getting the sides. If you're that serious buy the real thing (steroids). But thats only if you want to step on stage and compete
4. Use some type of synergistic compound to help reduce overall body fat and help convert it to muscle mass. Avoid Ephedra, it is very bad for your cardiovascular system. Ephedra is not bad if you follow the label and not over do it. But remember thermos only help a tiny bit. Not needed to lose fat, if you're trying to build dont buy them, you cant "convert" fat to muscle mass, there is no such thing as spot reduction.
5. Do not overdue your physical routine. No pain no gain has been proven to be somewhat exaggerated. Give your muscles enough time to heal. If you're still sore, take the day off. Thats right, only work a certain muscle group a week for starters. If you're just starting out, you will be sore no matter what kind of volume you do
p.s. I minored in nutrition as an undergrad.

My comments are in bold in the quote.

The issue of pro-hormones is somewhat controversial. I have come to the conslusion they (pro-hormones) have somewhat of an exponential value, meaning that for some they work and others they don't. This is because we all have different chemical levels in our bodies. Some people have an abundance of testosterone, and others lack. Those who lack testosterone are the ones who would likely benefit from using pro-hormones. I can attest that I have in fact noticed quite a difference since using them.
Ephedra is also a controversial issue. Many doctors claim that even directed use can be damaging to your heart. I honestly don't know for sure, but I avoid ephedra just to be on the safe side.

archon i think you might like that word file i have containing that advice by doggcrapp.
The guy started like eddie tall and a bean pole, about 10 years later put on over 100 lbs. Well he was on juice but even natural I wouldnt be suprised to see amazing results. Its almost a modified HIT training style.
I was going to start it but I had a pilondial cyst that had to be drained, then went back to the gym a couple months later, then had to stop cause i felt that the cyst was going to get irritated again. :(

12(or in my case, 40)oz curls. They may not get you as built as aforementioned diets, but hey, you'll be happy for a few hours.

12 oz curls. Coupled with carryin' 30pack home every 2 days.
Red Meat. Grilled. (hey, did the jailbait have tits like that when you were a kid?) Think meat "NOW WITH GROWTH HORMONES INCLUDED...FREE!!!"
Plenty of milk in the morning, keeps the heartburn down, coupled with eggs and cheese for protein!

40 oz curls have resulted in somewhat of an unwanted gut, in my case.
And of course the strenuous mouse workout can lead to carpel tunnel.
That's why often times I try to limit each, and supplement those workouts with some smoke inhalation excercises. Although vaccuum lungs aren't nearly as impressive as a 6 pack of abs..... They result in a much heightened sense of perception.
