no shit...that shocked me...I figured it was going to be either Bush, Young, or Jay Cutler going to the Texans...this dude came out of nowhere...I haven't even really heard anything said about this dude...

Bush will fall to the 4th pick to the Jets. I have no idea who my Chiefs are gonna draft tho.

Re: NFL Draft Thread!!
Who would have thunk it? The Saints signing Brees opens the way to draft Bush. With Deuce coming back from injury and Michael Bennett, N.O. should be putting up some point this season. Bush might actually wind up back in Southern California if the Saints move to L.A..

Re: NFL Draft Thread!!
I know Bush to the Saints in the obvious looking thing.. but I was sure he would go #1 to the texans.. THIS whole first round is gonna be weird..
Green Bay might do something strange too.. cause Javon Walker wants to be traded.. Allegedly Denver, Philly and New England are interested..

Re: NFL Draft Thread!!
Williams played at my alma mater. Out of HS, 6-6, 255. Is a freak, physically. He impressed at the combines (vertical leap, 4.6ish 40, crazy for a DL) There were doubts about his consistancy of play though. Shall see next year how he fits into the Texan's scheme.

Many of the scouts were saying Williams and Bush are the two people in this draft that will be a good bet to have hall of fame careers.

Re: NFL Draft Thread!!
Well the Packers got AJ Hawk at #1 which is awesome..
then they traded Javon Walker away.. hate to see him go.. especially since they really didn't replace his size in the draft, yet.
Day 1 Trades
Trade 1: Pick 36 to NE for picks 52 and 75.
Trade 2: WR Javon Walker to DEN for pick 37.
Trade 3: Picks 37 & 139 to ATL for 47, 93 & 148.
Trade 4: Pick 93 to STL for 109 & 183.
Quote:
Round 2A: T/G Daryn Colledge
With the 47th overall pick the Packers selected Boise State T/G Daryn Colledge (6'4", 299 lbs.). The two time All-Wac first teamer is tied for the all-time lead in games played (51) and games started (51) at Boise State.
|
This pick im real excited to see.. I think he could start in the fall.
Quote:
Round 2B: WR Greg Jennings
With the 52nd overall pick the Packers selected Western Michigan WR Greg Jennings (5'11", 197 lbs.). Jennings is only the eleventh player in NCAA Division 1-A history to gain over 1,000 yards receiving three times in a career
|
Never heard of the guy.. But his stats are pretty damn good.. Almost 100 catches this past season. Not huge size.. but he should be pretty good addition.
Quote:
Round 3A: LB Abdul Hodge
With the 67th overall pick the Packers selected Iowa LB Abdul Hodge (6'0", 236 lbs.). A three year starter, Hodge led the Hawkeyes in tackles the past 3 seasons and ranks third in school history with 453 tackles.
|
This guy i got to see a lot of seeing how he's in the big 10.. This is another pleasing pick
Quote:
Round 3B: G/C Jason Spitz
With the 75th overall pick the Packers selected Louisville G/C Jason Spitz (6'4", 313 lbs.). Spitz started his final 39 games at offensive guard and earned post-season honors in each of his last three seasons
|
Dont know much about him. but from what im reading he's going to make an impact right away.. especially since the packers lost 2 centers in the offseason.

Re: NFL Draft Thread!!
Im kinda pissed becuase my team, the redskins, traded all of their picks away. They only had one pick on the first day and they used it on some linebacker from miami that nobody would have picked that high.

I got to watch every game this guy has played in college. He started in every game in his 4 years here at Boise State...never was injured. Went up against and dominated every defensive end he lined up against, including the highly touted Mathias Kiwanuka from BC. He's a super tough guy. He's an excellent athlete who can throw a baseball nearly 90 mph, dunk a basketball from flat feet. He's a hell of a guy who won't have ANY off the field problems. He's from North Pole, AK so the Green Bay winters will seem mild. And to top it off, he's a very intelligent guy who won't have any problems learning the complex blocking schemes that the NFL has to offer.
Green Bay got a hell of a pick, and an entire city of instant Packer fans.

Good to know... Very excited to see him in action.. especially since the packers have lost 3/5ths of their starting o-line in the last 2 offseasons.
