Head Problems with the Pill?
Hey Everyone. This is a weird one, but I have to ask. Has anyone had any problems with there girlfriend being messed up by the birth control pill? Here's the situation:
My girl of 6 years has been on the pill for most of our relationship. She has always had massive mood swings on or near her time of the month. I figured it was just the way she was. She would get really really depressed, and snap at anything next to "I love you and you are the most beautiful..."
Anyways, she has found some stuff on the net that suggests that her emotional issues might be in part, or fully caused by the pill. I have read this "online medical info" (can you trust it??) and it all seams to fit the bill. Two days ago she stopped taking them in a hopes that her depression might go away, along with it, taking her mood swings and lack of energy out the door too.
Now I think that if this will help her, then great. God knows she hasn't been very cheerful about 1out of every 4 weeks of every month. So I say giver a try.
Has anyone heard of this or experienced this first hand? If so, please say something. I just hope this works for her!
Thanks

Re: Head Problems with the Pill?
My cousin has had that sort of thing happen to her. Depressive mood swings, one time she bled continously for 6 weeks... some people just aren't ok with it. I suggest you get her to visit her gyne and he/she can discuss other BC options with her. My cousin has had success with a low dose BC pill (yasmin) but your best bet really is to talk to a doc.

Re: Head Problems with the Pill?
Hormones will definitely affect moods and emotions. I'd suggest a trip to the doctor to get a pill with a lower/different dose of hormones. For me, the pill leveled out my emotional mood swings.

Re: Head Problems with the Pill?
some women are affected by the pill in a "negative" manner ... many years ago i watched a good friends wife (sweet and level headed) go ape-shit and stab him in the shoulder with a fork (it stuck) ! turns out that the cause was from the birth control pills she was taking ... she had to get a shot once in a while and everything was ok . later on down the road her doctor prescribed a different type and all was ok .
as was mentioned , seeking the advice of a doctor is the correct thing to do in this matter .
