I am curious. and also, out of ideas.

where did you go/what did you do. have fun?

I mean, ALL you're first dates with whoever you've dated before, or basically the first time hangout with the person you like one on one.

Mine tend to be quite casual. no flowers or anything.
I've been to the movies (which I dont' like, can't talk!), bowling, lunchout, hiking and picnic. looking back, it all seems so boring! .

I'd say the hiking-picnic one was the best. lots of time to talk, and excuses to "help" her when she got tired. haha.

fire on the beach is the best.

movie is no good for first couple of times. maybe 5th or 6th time out.

bowling is fun for everyone. plus good times oggling each other's ass.

i don't know, something where you're both doing something. focused on something othr than each other and you'll learn each other better that way.

With my ex girlfriend, our first "date" was actually a double date with friends of hers. We went out and had dinner. Best date we had was the company holiday Xmas party of 2002....let's just say her hands were feeling a bit frisky under neither the table...

Last date I went on with a chick I met through a co worker we met up at a local bar.....we both were bored out of our minds....so we had another date at a local sports bar/restraurant and that went much better.

Haven't been out much lately. Hang out with friends here and there..but nothing in the dating scene as of yet.

first dates are tough to line out . i'll agree that areas of common intrest doing common things does get to be a bit "boring" . i have to remember that a date is not a "me" thing ... it is a "we" thing and quite possibly it may at times be a "you" thing . sometimes one has to set aside their personal preferences in order to find out more about the other person .

i like the idea of talking with someone in order to find out more about them ... sometimes observing a person tells about them as well . i have had good results going on a date that incorporated both of these ideas . an example of this might be going to a movie (her choice) and afterwards having coffee at some cafe that is *fairly* quiet (your choice) .

i believe that dating is an experiment in seeking out a person that has ideas/ways of being and doing that are common to my own as well as differences that compliment those areas in myself that may be a little lacking ... there is always room for growth !

double dating is another way of finding out about a person ... after all , knowing someone is a package deal ... you get their "friends" as well at no extra charge ! believe you me , this area is enough to keep one entertained for many hours !

i have said : "i am having a tough time figuring out what to do or where to go ... do you have any ideas ?" ... this takes at least 50% of the load off me and shows the other person that what they think and feel is important to you .

ahhh ... to be young again ... on second thought , hell NO !

My wife's and my first date was to a summer stock musical. It was fun and mildly romantic. Also, can be fancy and cheap at the same time.

normally, i try to keep it casual. hang out, go walking, pinics (moonlight picnics are the best) ...stuff along those lines.

My best first date was at a sportsbar, it was really chilled out and always had something to talk about if there were awkward pauses

A: Sports bar, beer and shooting pool, and then late night munchies (24 hour Steak n Shake), and then my place.

A RickJames sighting?

During the only pseudo date I've been on I went to a movie with a female friend of mine. Not really a date though, guess it doesn't count.

I think my ex and I had our first "date" at Starbucks. I asked him out, so I paid for it. We then watched the Lantern Parade together, a yearly Christmas thing at our university - each department has a float and they walk around campus and it ends in a fireworks display.

First meal TY and I had together was at home, with my folks. It surely wasn't a date, more like being grilled (hehe). We had breakfast the next day at IHOP but I think the first real "date" we had was when we went to see Miss Saigon. Felt kinda weird being an Asian chick with a white guy because of the story... It was fun though, we went to a sushi place that had the best tempura ever! We had to wolf down dinner because if not we would've missed the beginning of the show. When I parked my mirror almost got shaved off be a bus (so much for trying to impress him with my uber parallel parking skills... I sucked!) The show was so-so but the company was great so it was all good.

my boyfriend (dave) and i spent the entire summer just being friends. he asked me to dinner one night (a common occurance), after dinner we went to a side street that had a dirt turn around in the woods and hung out. he told me he liked me, i told him i liked him and we made out for an hour.

about a week before all this happened, he and i were vacationing on cape cod and we walked down to the bay. we held hands, cuddled, talked...

it was romantic even if it wasn't a first date... i highly recommend that everyone do that at some point in their life.

Here is a summary of the first date I had with current (and probably final) g/f.

1. Smoked a bowl together
2. Watched "The Fellowship of the Ring" at the movies
3. Went back to her place, and smoked another bowl together
4. Played Super Mario Bro. 3 til 2:00 in the morning, then started fooling around
5. Called it a night, went home

4 1/2 yrs later, we're still just as happy together as at the beginning.
