Help needed!
Hey there, my problem is rather embarrassing but here goes. my foreskin doesnt retract when I have an erection and basically im looking for advice from people who would know what to do about it. Its become a real problem for me and has really dented my confidence. Its got to the point where I avoid going out partying with friends n stuff in case it leads to something. Im 17 at the moment and its not something i want to go to the doctor about so any advice from you guys would be fully appreciated. Thanks!!

I'm sorry, but I think you probably need to see a doctor to treat this. There isn't an easy home remedy. May I suggest this article:

Re: Help needed!
Go to the doctor. Don't be embarrassed. I know its easier to say then to do, but this can be a serious issue. And if its interferring with your life than it already is a serious issue.

Re: Help needed!
Ok now this isn't a stupid question or anything silly but...
Why don't you just pull back your foreskin?

Re: Help needed!
It can be pulled back, its just that it doesnt stay retracted because its too tight.

Re: Help needed!
Trust me... the doctor won't feel weird about your problem... he/she has definately seen things that that comparitively make your problem look like a runny nose. The feeling of relief you have after you deal with it will more than compensate for the nervousness that you experience in discussing it with your doctor and the effect that it is currently having on you socially and mentally by worrying about it. Man up, make an appointment, get it taken care of, and then go chase some tail with the rest of your buddies. :D

Re: Help needed!
I'm not positive, but I believe that this is a fairly common problem. At least more common than you think. Don't be embarassed and go. I'm positive that your doctor has at least heard of it and, much more likely than not, dealt with it before.

Re: Help needed!
i vote for the trip to the doctors. seems like a no brainer. docs have seen it all and if you're looking for answers, that's gotta be a better way to go than taking advice from strangers on the internet.

Re: Help needed!
i agree with the others on this ... seek the help/advice of your md . if it is not in their field of expertice they can point you in the right direction .
to my way of thinking it would be far worse for me to explain HOW i just about managed to cut my finger off (been there) versus talking about something that i have a choice in changing/doing .

Re: Help needed!
Ditto to the above. Doctors see lots of things and will be able to give you the best advice. If it's interfering with how you feel about yourself and the activities you choose to engage in, then it's best to deal with it now. It's not as uncommon as you think.

Re: Help needed!
I wasn't aware it was supposed to retract..... i've been with a couple girls and mine doesn't and it's never been mentioned and they didn't seem to mind? Is it something i should be concerned about?
