Resume...

click on one of our sponsors! OR REMOVE ADS
I was applying for a job and it asked me to post a resume. I thought it would be easy to just make one up real quick. I made one in high school, but I forgot how to format it and what exactly to put on it. I was wondering if someone could help me out by posting a templet of what your resume is like. Or just some friendly advice would help to. Thanks.

resume...

name. number to be reached at. address, and email address.

last three jobs with # so they can verify and what you did/accomplished at last jobs,

keep it simple. list bullets with experiences, like what you know.

education.

pretty straight forward. throw something together and post it. we are good critiques

Re: Resume...

Don't forget to use a lot of positive action words. Remember, you're selling yourself in a succinct paper format.

Re: Resume...

google resume and look at several examples. Some pointers. Do not use bullets. some companys scan resumes and then a program "sorts" them. OCR software may thing a bullett is an O at the begining of the word. Therefore the word is misspelled. Not a good thing. Ditto on lines separating. Read about keywords and what the latest is on how they should be used.

Read how the site wants your resume posted. You should have a version in word and plain text.

Good hunting.

Do not lie on your resume. People check. If you did not graduate, do not say that you did. A resume is not a place of full disclosure, but if it is on your resume it had best be true.

I have a link where you can download a software the will pretty much make any kind of resume you want and I guarntee you it would be the best you have seen.
Along with templates it has help topics for every kind of job.
It's the best but I'm not sure if I'm allowed to post it here.

Re: Resume...

Everything everybody has said is great advice. I have never used a template or anything, just made it myself, but if they work, they work. Try not to put like paragraphs or somthing thats long to read or just boring. Put your accomplishments on this even if its not work related. Say if youve ran a marathon or somthing, that would be good. This is an option if you dont have much working experiance or the resume doesnt seem to long enough. This shows the business that you havent been just sitting around doing nothing, but that your productive and active, along with you have had previous jobs. And as jeffc said DO NOT LIE. It probably will come back to bite you in the ass. When you think your done with everything have a smart buddy read it over and proof it make sure it flows. You can also do this yourself, but this prevents any minor mistakes you might have made.

good luck
